How much weight will I lose from having liposuction?
Liposuction helps contour and sculpt the shape of your body and is not a weight loss tool. Liposuction is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure time varies between each individual’s unique situation, the doctor performing the operation and the amount of fat being removed. It will take an exam by one of our board-certified cosmetic surgeons for you to find out how long your procedure will take.
Will I be awake for the procedure?
No, you will not be awake. At the Avalon Clinic our patients are put under a general anesthesia, which means you will be "asleep" for your cosmetic surgery.
How long before I see results?
Some patients may notice a slight change right after surgery, and even more so after the swelling has gone down. The average time before patients at the Avalon Clinic see their results is around 12 weeks. However, complete results may not be seen up to a year.
Will I have bruising from the procedure?
There may be some bruising around the incision where the doctor has inserted the canula, or the device used to suction out excess fat. The scar is small and hides well in the body’s natural crease lines.
What is the recovery time for undergoing liposuction?
Most people take 3-5 days off of work for recovery before returning to work. It is advised that patients should wait another 4-6 weeks resuming vigorous exercise or activities. Each person heals differently, so individual healing times will vary. It is important to follow all of your post-operative instructions to achieve your goals.
