There are several ways to insert implants, but most often the incision is placed underneath the breast, in the natural crease of the breast. By placing the ½-inch long incision there, the scar is minimal and the implant can be easily placed behind the muscle to achieve a more natural look. The placement of the implant underneath the muscle will give the patient a more pleasing result as well as a reduced visibility of any wrinkles or rippling of the implant.
